I have three children at Tipton St John, my oldest starting in 2014. Our family has spent two years in North Africa where we learned languages, culture and how to survive in the Sahara and came back to the school in 2017. As a parent I want an environment for our children where they feel secure, loved and free to express themselves but also where they are pushed out of their comfort zones and can learn from their mistakes so that they can lead adventurous lives.
Having gone to a CofE school, I really appreciate the opportunity that faith schools can provide to look beyond traditions and ideas to discover a deep sense of spirituality and personal encounter with God. Nobody is too young to start developing their spirituality and asking big questions! As a foundation governor, I am keen to promote opportunities that young people have to find their feet as spiritual actors in a spiritual world and to encounter God in life changing ways, regardless of their religious orientation.
